I started Oceanside Crossfit in Febuary 2014. I had been a long time member of the local Y. Over the years I have always tried to stay pretty active, running and doing group classes; mixing it up between spin, power, and yoga to keep things interesting. I decided to try CrossFit on a groupon I purchased. My first classes were fundamental classes where you were taught proper form. I have a complicated work schedule, so I wasn't able to do the fundamental classes at the times they were offered. I talked to Coach Laura and she arranged some time in the morning to do some 1:1 with me. After that I was hooked..
In the 8 months I've been there I have lost over 20 pounds and gotten so much stronger! I can do things now that I never thought I could do before, like climb the rope! Every day the coaches are there to instruct you through the workouts and are all helpful through all the movements and are there to correct any bad form. I believe CrossFit is the best program for anyone wanting to improve their health and quality of life. I also believe Coach Laura, Simon, Fish, Jaime, Stacie, and Coach G are great trainers who genuinely care about everyone that walks through their door, which is something you won't find in many gyms outside of CrossFit. They do a great job at scaling the workouts so that anyone can participate and benefit if they put out the effort. I am very pleased to have found Oceanside CrossFit when I did and I look forward to what they have in store for us in the future.
